I’m a mixed-methods communication researcher.

I earned my PhD in Communication from Purdue, and I’m interested in how we live, work, and play online.

💻 Organizational Research ****

I’m interested in how we organize in a world heavily mediated by the Internet. Currently, I’m investigating DAOs and the ecosystem’s use of the Systems metaphor

How do you know the community you’re building is healthy? Successful? I examine online communities in order to drive engagement.

How I Do It

🔡 Language Analysis ****

I use a variety of language analysis tools to convert emails, text messages, chats, and other text-based communication into actionable insights.

📈 Statistical Analysis ****

I use a variety of statistical tools to aid analysis, such as regression analysis and ANOVA, to uncover trends in data.

🏘 Ethnography ****

I embed myself within communities and build relationships with residents to uncover trends, examine the themes that drive their daily concerns and decisions.

🗣 Interviews ****

I interview stakeholders to help people and businesses learn how to best serve them.
